Zen Cat
The Zen Cat series is an ongoing exploration of harmony, adaptability, and the fusion of history with contemporary culture. Each piece in this collection reimagines the beloved feline—an animal often associated with independence and mystery—by placing it in unexpected settings that blend ancient traditions with modern elements.
Dressed in intricate Chinese armor while interacting with modern transportation—such as bicycles, motorcycles, or other contemporary vehicles—Zen Cat embodies a balance between past and present, discipline and playfulness. These works challenge conventional boundaries, weaving cultural heritage into everyday life while celebrating the resilience and spirit of cats.
With four pieces currently in the series and more to come, my vision is to expand Zen Cat into a broader narrative—one that continues to explore how tradition and modernity coexist in a world where history is never truly left behind but instead reinterpreted in new and meaningful ways.
Each artwork is brought to life through giclée printing, enhancing fine textures and intricate details that give depth to the composition. Through this evolving body of work, I invite viewers to embrace the unexpected and find balance in the blend of old and new.

Zen Cat : The Four Queens
Zen Cats: The Four Queens is a research-based series exploring cats as contemporary archetypes — guardians of career, love, wisdom, and wealth. Inspired by the four queens in a deck of playing cards, the project integrates seasonal symbolism, mythological references, floral language, and modern design elements, creating a dialogue between the classical and the contemporary, the Eastern and Western.
Each queen corresponds to a season and a realm of life.
The Queen of Spades (winter) draws on Athena, embodying wisdom and strategic strength; traditional weapons transform into contemporary tools against a backdrop of resilient plum blossoms.
The Queen of Hearts (spring) reinterprets Judith, examining love through symbolism, science, and playful subversion.
The Queen of Clubs (summer) references Argine and classical mural traditions, pairing vitality with spiritual serenity.
The Queen of Diamonds (autumn) evokes Rachel, representing prosperity and material fulfillment.
The long-term vision is to expand the series into a complete 54-card deck, reimagining symbolic guardians for contemporary life.
